I am from Chitradurga and the son of Yashoda Bai and N. Shama Rao who practiced law. After graduating from Mysore Medical College and briefly teaching Anatomy in New Delhi, I moved to New York and finished my specialty in Internal Medicine. I did my fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the Baltimore Shock and Trauma Unit and worked in Baltimore practicing Critical Care after my fellowship.
I was a teaching lecturer for Ambulatory Care at the Veterans Administration in Tennessee. Then I moved to California where I settled. I began working in various ER’s in California, I also became medical director for several ER contracts and finished board certification in ER. I established my own practice 12 yrs ago, I am now managing several clinics, hospitalist contract, Ltac contract and an ER contract.
My wife Judy and I live in Glendale, California. Our son Adam is currently living in San Francisco and attending UCSF's MD/PhD program. For leisure time I enjoy Biking, Fitness training and travelling with my family.
