Diagnostic Testing/ Procedures

Spirometry

Spirometry is the most common of the pulmonary function tests. It measures lung function, specifically the amount and/or speed of air that can be inhaled and exhaled. Spirometry is helpful in assessing breathing patterns that identify conditions such as asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis, and COPD.

Nebulizer Treatment

Breathing the medication straight into the lungs works better and faster than taking the medication by mouth. Nebulizers are commonly used for the treatment of asthma, cystic fibrosis, COPD and other respiratory diseases or disorders.

EKG

An electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) is a test that checks how your heart is functioning by measuring the electrical activity of the heart.

Audiometry

An audiometry exam tests your ability to hear sounds. An audiometry exam tests how well your hearing functions. It tests both the intensity and the tone of sounds, balance issues, and other issues related to the function of the inner ear.

Snellen Test

A Snellen chart is an eye chart that can be used to measure visual acuity. The visual acuity test is used to determine the smallest letters you can read on a standardized chart (Snellen chart) or a card held 20 feet (6 meters) away.

A lower extremity arterial physiologic study may be requested to determine whether peripheral artery disease is present, what vessels are affected, and how severely the blood flow is impaired.

Endogram

Treadmill testing is the main assessment method to evaluate walking ability in patients with PAD in clinical studies.

Duplex Scan of Lower Extremity Arteries

This ultrasound helps us to see the arteries that carry blood to the legs. It uses high frequency sound waves. This test finds blockages in the leg arteries and grades the severity of these blockages.

Duplex Scan of Lower Extremity Veins

Venous duplex scanning (VDS) is the most recent noninvasive study introduced and has rapidly gained acceptance in the diagnosis of venous thrombosis.
